Friend or Foe? On the Interplay between Machine Learning and Cybersecurity

Oneliner: This was my first talk to a Summer School (and I loved it).
This was the second time I gave a lecture talk to this Summer School. The talk was quite similar in structure to the one I gave the previous year. However, for this one, I covered more recent subjects that I tackled in my research, such as the attack against phishing website detectors presented at IEEE EuroS&P ‘26., the attacks against LLM-driven Algorithmic Trading Systems presented at IEEE SaTML ‘26, and the attacks against LLMs used in scientific peer-review published in ACM TAISAP earlier this year.
